Türkiye is not a single climate zone, and heat pump selection should reflect that. Along the Mediterranean and Aegean coast winters are mild, so air source heat pumps run comfortably for most of the season; smaller capacities and split solutions are usually enough. Marmara, and Istanbul in particular, rarely sees deep sub-zero temperatures, which likewise makes it favourable territory for air source systems. In Central Anatolia, Eastern Anatolia and high-altitude districts the picture changes: as the design outdoor temperature falls, the capacity the unit can deliver drops, so both the capacity choice and the need for a backup electric heater have to be reassessed. The difference between monobloc and split is not independent of climate. On monobloc models the entire refrigerant circuit is sealed inside the outdoor unit; no refrigerant work is needed on site and almost no indoor space is used. In return, the heating water runs all the way out to the outdoor unit, so in provinces with hard winters frost protection and pipe insulation are an integral part of the design. Let us be clear about heat pump prices: there are no figures on this page, and that is deliberate. The cost of a project depends on capacity, on the monobloc/split decision, on the uniSTOR RW cylinder volume chosen for domestic hot water (in the 200–500 L range), on whether you go for a myVAILLANT Smart or sensoCOMFORT control unit, and on the scope of the installation. Nor do we promise a payback period in years. The logic of the calculation is simple: from the investment cost you work out the annual difference between what heating with your current fuel costs you and what the heat pump consumes in electricity. On the installation side, the same physical conditions apply whichever province you are in. The outdoor unit needs a spot with unobstructed airflow and service access: a garden, a terrace or a sufficiently large balcony. In flats, noise for the neighbours and permission from the building management should be discussed at the very start; in detached houses and villas, positioning is usually easier. On the electrical side a three-phase supply may come into play depending on capacity, so it is worth checking your existing connection from the outset. Adequate water volume in the system, correct circulation and proper hydraulic balancing also feed straight into efficiency.
